Resilience

Resilience

We support initiatives that help integrate the experience of war into civilian life and transform it into a resource for societal development.

We understand resilience as the ability of individuals and society to navigate difficult circumstances and profound challenges while preserving humanity, mutual support, and readiness for future challenges. In this sense, resilience is a complex process of adaptation that requires emotional, mental, and behavioral flexibility.

The program aims to ensure that pain and loss do not fracture society, but instead become a source for growth. We seek to help Ukrainians draw strength from their own experience, remember, recover, and prepare for the future.

Program Priorities

Innovative Evidence-Based Approaches to Rehabilitation, Recovery, and Reintegration

Support for pilot and system-building initiatives that introduce leading international and Ukrainian approaches to addressing the trauma of war and supporting the recovery and reintegration of veterans and their families. This includes adaptive sports programs, psychological recovery initiatives (including for active-duty military personnel), specialist training, and family retreats.

Support Services and Community Development

Support for projects that establish and strengthen centers and community spaces providing integrated services for veterans, including legal assistance, psychological support, and career guidance.

Veterans for Civilians: A Culture of Safety and Mutual Support

Support for initiatives that draw on veterans’ experience as a resource for strengthening communities. This includes educational programs, tactical medicine training, pre-military education for young people, survival skills courses, and initiatives that prepare civilians by engaging veterans as experts, mentors, and community leaders. This area also supports educational and leadership programs, including those designed for active-duty military personnel.
